Celebrating the Genius

The Royal Museums host this year impressive exhibitions dedicated to three Genius of the international art scene: Armando Testa, Antoon Van Dyck e Leonardo Da Vinci.

The first exhibition, Tutti gli “ismi” di Armando Testa, at Palazzo Chiablese counts over 100 works among posters, drawings, video contributions, paintings and sculptures by this great creative artist of talent, made between the 40s and the 90s of the twentieth century.

The second one, Van Dyck - Pittore di Corte, at Galleria Sabauda, is dedicated to Antoon van Dyck, Ruben’s best student, who turned upside down the way to portray. He was the official painter of the greatest courts in Europe portraying princes, queens, sirs and noble women of the most prestigious families of the time. The exhibition, made up of over 50 works, intends to bring out the exclusive relationship that the artist had with the most authoritative courts - Italian and European in the 17th century.

From 15th April to 17th July, on the occasion of the celebrations marking the 500th Anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Death, the Royal Library will host the exhibition Leonardo Da Vinci. Disegnare il futuro.
An exhibition with over fifty works, illustrating Leonardo da Vinci’s studies in art and science, in the form of drawings. The visitor is taken through the collection of autograph works by Leonardo, which includes thirteen drawings purchased by King Charles Albert in 1840 and the famous Codex on the Flight of Birds. Moreover, the incomparable, universally renowned Portrait of an Old Man, known as the Self Portrait of Leonardo will be displayed during this period.
